Information about sunsetting older Zello apps (August 2025)

Summary

To ensure the continued reliability, security, and performance of our services, Zello is implementing key updates that may require your action. These changes are part of our ongoing commitment to delivering a world-class communication experience.

As of August 12, 2025 the following older Zello apps will no longer be supported and will stop working:

Zello apps:

  • Android app: versions older than 6.0
  • iOS app: versions older than 6.1
  • Dispatch Hub: versions older than 15.26
  • Legacy PC app: all versions

Zello SDK:

  • Android SDK: versions older than 1.0.3
  • iOS SDK: versions older than 2.0
  • ReactNative SDK: versions older than 2.0

Note: some radio gateways (like Raven FlexGate) use older integration options and might also be affected. Reach out to your radio gateway manufacturer or Zello support for more information.

Actions required

✅ To continue using Zello, please ensure your Zello apps are up to date before August 12, 2025:

  1. Android: Zello version 6.0+ (requires Android OS 7.0+)
  2. iOS: Zello version 6.1+ (requires iOS 15+)
  3. Dispatch Hub: Zello version 15.26+ (requires Windows 10+)
  4. Legacy PC App: migrate to Dispatch Hub for desktop use or Zello Bridge for radio gateway integrations

If using Zello SDKs, update your applications to a supported version:

  1. Android SDK: Zello SDK version 1.0.3+ (requires iOS 15+)
  2. iOS SDK: Zello SDK version 2.0+ (requires iOS 15+)
  3. ReactNative SDK: Zello SDK version 2.0+

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Step 1 - Check your app version:
    1. In the web console:
      1. Navigate to Activity -> Sign In Report. The report will show the latest user sign-ins and the app version used at the time.
    2. Or on the device:
      1. Android: open Zello, tap on the three dots in the top right, in the menu select Options, then tap Support.
      2. iOS: open Zello, tap on your profile in the top left, select Settings, then tap Support.
      3. Dispatch Hub:
        1. Windows: open Zello Dispatch Hub, click on the menu (icon with 3 horizontal lines in the top left), then select About Zello.
        2. Mac: open Zello Dispatch Hub, in the menu bar select Zello, then About Zello.
  2. Step 2 - Update your app:
    1. Android: update your Zello app through Google Play. Alternatively, download and install the latest APK from Zello downloads page (use this APK for Sonim devices).
    2. iOS: update your Zello app through Apple App Store.
    3. Dispatch Hub: open menu and select Check for Updates. Alternatively, download and install the latest version from the Zello downloads page .

Note:

  • Once updated, you can verify the version of your Zello app (see Step1).
  • If you have an MDM solution to manage your mobile devices, consider using it to deploy the latest version of Zello app to your users.

Legacy PC App

We no longer support the Zello Legacy PC App. Migrate to:

Zello Enterprise Server

Zello Enterprise Server installations are also affected. Perform the following in the specified order:

  1. Ensure your Zello apps are up to date.
  2. Apply updated Zello Enterprise Server license to your server. You should have received an email with your new license on May 29, 2025.

Note: Zello apps need to be updated first before the new license is applied.
